“DayNumCalc” is an abbreviation for “Day Number Calculations”. It would have been nice to use the full phrase, but app names need to be short and to the point.

The app was first released in 2022 to give easy access to two pieces of information:

• the number of days between January 1st and a particular date of the same year, and/or 
• the date that matches a year and a day number.

In 2023, the app acquired widget functionality for easy access to current date information:

• small widget for the Home Screen and the Today View 
• accessory circular, rectangular, and/or inline widgets for the Lock Screen, and
• touching a widget brings DayNumCalc to the foreground.

In 2024, DayNumCalc receives its first major revision::

• the app uses a tabbed interface
• the first tab, “DayNumberCalcs”, presents the date/day number calculations the app provided in version 1
• the second tab, “Other Calculations”, gives access to new capabilities:
  • determine the number of days between two dates
  • find a new date by adding or subtracting a number of days from a chosen date, and
  • determine the day of the week for a date of your choice.
